‘Sectarianism in Irish History’

The Legacy of the Reformation

A large crowd gathered to hear the Spring Lecture on ‘Sectarianism in Irish History’ by Dr Daire Keogh. Dr Keogh’s academic career has taken him around Europe as he earned degrees from University College Dublin, Gregorian University, the University of Glasgow, and Dublin University.  He also worked with the distinguished Irish scholar and diplomat Conor Cruise O’Brien.  After five years of assisting O’Brien, Dr. Keogh has lectured at the University College-Galway, the University of Notre Dame’s Dublin programme, and at St. Patrick’s College in Dublin where he is currently a Senior Lecturer.  With his focus on ecclesiastical history, Daire has written and edited over a dozen books on sectarianism and radicalism in Ireland.
